Full Moon in Pisces

Pisces’ evolutionary goal is to decouple consciousness from personality, to understand that we are more than our characteristics, traits, or the state of our internal landscape, to see beyond what makes us human (our identity/self-image) and identify with our larger self or soul;

The Full Moon is opposite the Sun in Virgo. While Virgo prides itself on excellence and perfecting their skills to be of service to the world, Pisces knows that we are more than what we do or create. For Pisces, identifying with the soul is where growth and transcendence is found.

Pisces serves as the healing balm to Virgo’s internal doubts and self-criticism by offering a generous dose of compassion, which invites the question: can you offer yourself more compassion and love as you move through your daily routine, the practice of perfecting your craft or the process of self-growth?

Though Virgo and Pisces are in polarity to one another, they balance each other out. While Virgo is focused on refining and enhancing all aspects of their life (daily rituals, skills, health) to reach their ultimate potential, Pisces brings the process of surrendering to the equation. Some things are beyond our control and can’t be molded by our very hands. Here is where Pisces comes in and surrenders to the unknown — trusting that sometimes we need to step away from “doing” and just beletting certain things unfold as they may.

Virgo is logic and reason while Pisces is our inner knowing that defies logic and what is tangible. Virgo is our analytical and logical mind while Pisces is our higher consciousness. Mercury which rules Virgo represents our analytical mind while Neptune which rules Pisces represents our higher consciousness. It encompasses our inner knowing, our inner truth, what we sense and know to be true within that comes from beyond our mind.

This lunation is conjunct Neptune, the planet of consciousness, which highlights where we may need to step back, surrender, and allow things to take shape in their own timing. While we play a part in shaping and diligently working towards our goals, divine timing plays a part in the process too. The moon is also sextile to Uranus, the planet of individuation, which invites us to pause and feel into whether what we’re striving for or creating is being molded by the external or whether it’s a reflection of our true self.

Reflections:

  • Where do you need to release your grip, take a breath, and be still? Answers come to us in moments of stillness .

  • Can you press pause on endlessly “doing” and just be? Can you quiet your mind, if only for a few moments, and be present with the whispers of your soul?

  • Are you over identifying with what you have to offer/your accomplishments rather than being in connection with the totality of your being/soul? Know that you are more than what you have to offer.

  • Are your dreams or what you’re working towards in alignment with your true self or have they been shaped by external expectations and pressures?

New Moon in Virgo

Virgo’s evolutionary goal is to self-transform and aim for their highest potential. Most of us are familiar with the quote, “the secret to your success is found in your daily routine.” At its best, Virgo is an embodiment of this. Virgo corresponds with the 6th house of daily routines, skills, duties and meaningful work, and so Virgo knows that magic is found in the mundane; becoming skilled at something is only realized through daily practice.

Virgo recognizes that in order to become the best version of ourselves, our daily habits and practices need to be in alignment with and supportive of our goals and visions. Virgo understands that the root of our transformation begins with our daily routines, and in order to stay consistent with them, there must be meaning behind our rituals. For Virgo, whatever they choose to devote their time and effort to must be meaningful.

This New Moon is in friction with Mars (our drive and assertiveness). Mars is action oriented and a go-getter. This new moon highlights where we may need to revise, re-create, or refine our daily routines in order for our actions to be in alignment with our goals and words (what we say we want). In order for our goals to be realized, they must be powered by action and fueled by meaning, which is something that Virgo comprehends at its core.

Reflections:

  • What part of your daily routine is in need of improvement/refinement?

  • Are your actions in alignment or reflective of your goals?

  • Are your daily routines supporting you in reaching your goals?

  • What habits do you need to minimize (or do away with) that are preventing your growth? And what supportive habits can you begin to implement or practice instead?

The Season of the Perfectionist (Virgo Season)

The Sun enters the sign of the analyst, mentor, and perfectionist Ruled by Mercury, which symbolizes our cognition, this is a time to refine and polish our skills and put them into practice.

Virgo is associated with the sixth house (house of service, skills, daily routines) and is mutable sign which means that self-growth, the hunger to improve, and becoming competent at something is what drives the sign of the purist.

Virgo’s evolutionary goal is to self-transform and aim for perfection (their highest potential). Developing a set of skills which one can be of service through is Virgo’s pathway for achieving this. However, the focus isn’t solely to serve but the expression of self through service. Finding meaningful work that matters and makes a positive impact in the lives of others is essential for the sign of the mentor.

Virgo (season) is here to teach us that self-transformation is realized through daily effort, focus, and self-discipline. Brining our visions to life requires this as well as accurate self-assessment. To reach our true potential, we must first allow ourselves to be beginners, find the right mentors, diligently practice our craft, and remember to exercise self-compassion along the way. This is the wisdom that Virgo imparts on us.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Aquarius’ evolutionary goal is to develop their individuality, question authority, and resist the pressure to conform to cultural and societal expectations.

The full moon is opposite the Sun in Leo; the common ground between these two signs is being true to your authentic self.

For Aquarius, the pathway to being true to their authentic self lies in figuring out who we are beyond what we have been conditioned to think we are. Becoming aware of how the external world has shaped you begins the process of unraveling the layers that are not authentic to your true nature. In doing so, you begin to break free from (social, cultural and familial) expectations and pressures that stifle any part of your true expression and how you want so show up in the world. To get this process right, it requires that you follow your inner guidance regardless of how “strange” or “unconventional” you may look to others.

The Aquarius full moon makes aspects to both of its rulers — Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler); Saturn makes the rules while Uranus breaks them. This poses the question: what rules do you need to break free from?

Reflections:

  • Where do you feel restricted/constrained (Saturn) in your life and how can you create more freedom (Uranus) there? Or where are you feeling instability (Uranus) and how can you create supportive structures (Saturn)?

  • Are there any societal expectations that you’ve been conditioned by that are restricting or stifling your true expression and how you want to show up in your community?

  • Can you let those expectations fall away, stand in your authenticity, and continue to walk in the direction your inner guidance is leading you even if your choices may seem unconventional to others?
