Full Moon in Aries

Aries’ evolutionary goal is to develop courage and the right use of assertiveness. In order to develop our courage, it’s important that we intentionally choose experiences that challenge us whether that’s by doing something adventurous, taking healthy risks, or even having an honest conversation.

This full moon is conjunct the asteroid Chiron also know as “the wounded healer.” Aries represents the self; therefore, Chiron in Aries represents a wound in our sense of self. This can highlight where we may be lacking confidence or simply not standing up for ourselves when needed. Appeasing others at the expense of oneself is another way in which this can express itself, which is reflective of the opposition between Sun-Venus in Libra (the other) and the Moon in Aries (the self). On the other hand, it can show up as being overly aggressive and dismissive of others.

Aries is the warrior; Libra is the peacemaker. This full moon highlights where we may be holding on to any inner tension as a result of compromising our true nature in relation to others. This bring up the questions: in what ways have you diminished your fire in order to be more palatable to others? Have you watered down your natural desires and motivations at the expense of fitting in? There’s no sense in being in conflict with ourselves in order to please others.

The beauty of Aries lies in that it fights/advocates for what it wants. It knows it has the right to take up space and exist, and sometimes it has to fight for that. Living the kind of life we envision for ourselves requires the development of courage which begins with showing up for ourselves and claiming what it is we want.

Reflections:

  • In what area of your life could you practice being more courageous?

  • Is there an area of life where you’d like to take up more space and can you accept the challenge of showing up more fully as yourself there?

  • Are your actions aligned with your desires? What’s one thing you can do to create forward movement?
