New Moon in Libra

Libra’s evolutionary goal is to cultivate harmony and establish equilibrium. It is by immersing one’s self in beauty through creating or being in beautiful and serene spaces that Libra finds peace. Calm environments tend to calm the mind, and this is Libra’s aim.

However, being in serene spaces are not the only thing that can have a calming effect on us, people can too. We’ve all know that the people we surround ourselves with have an impact on us. When we’re with the right people, we feel calm and at ease. We breathe easier. For the sign of the lover, developing harmonious and balanced relationships is essential.

With the sun and moon in the sign of the scales, the question of balance, harmony, and partnerships (romantic, platonic, business) are brought to the forefront. The new moon is opposite Jupiter in Aries; Aries symbolizes the self while Libra symbolizes the other

Jupiter, the planet of faith and expansion, asks us to ponder on where or how we have been settling for too little when it comes to our relationships and creative pursuits, as Libra is the archetype of the lover and artist. Jupiter is the part of us that knows we are worthy of receiving what it is we want, but it all starts with the belief that we are worthy of attaining what we desire.

Venus, the ruler of Libra, is currently in Virgo which asks us to reflect on where we may need to review or refine what we’re creating both relationally and creatively as Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, is currently retrograde. The new moon highlights where there is an opportunity (Jupiter) to infuse Libra’s Venusian touch of harmony beauty, and balance into these areas of life.

Reflections

  • Are you settling for too little when it comes to your relationship? Mutual respect, equality, support, appreciation, and affection are baseline in relationships.

  • Is there a sense of equalness in your relationships or do they feel one-sided? The shadow side of Libra is compromising the self to “keep the peace.”

  • When it comes to your creative pursuits, are you creating from a space of peace (Libra) or force (Aries)? What adjustments can be made to restore your sense of calmness as you create?

  • How can you begin to invite/create for beauty and serenity in your spaces, environments, and relationships?
