Full Moon in Virgo

Today’s full moon in Virgo is the last full moon of the astrological year. Full moons represent a release point, and a time of letting go. While the moon sits opposite the sun, our subconscious (moon) is illuminated, which can bring a sense of clarity to what needs to change.

Virgo’s evolutionarily goal is to self-transform and aim for its highest potential. Virgo energy is that of adjustment, refinement and improvement. This full moon speaks to creating the necessary rituals and habits that can support us in our day-to-day life. It’s about creating routine(s) that support us mind-body(Virgo)-soul (Pisces) and that give us the ability to show up and serve in a meaningful and impactful way.

Shortly after the full moon peaks, Saturn (the planet of discipline) moves into Pisces which also speaks to creating structures and foundations that sustain us spirituality and support us in anchoring our visions (Pisces) into reality.

The full moon is in friction with fiery Mars (our drive). While the moon in Virgo symbolizes practicality, and the sun in Pisces symbolizes a meditative pause, Mars is all about action, so we may be feeling that tension internally. Uranus (known as the great awakener) brings a supportive tone to this lunation in that it can “awaken” us to the changes that we need to create so that our daily habits and routines are supportive of both our goals and well-being.

Reflections:

  • Are my daily habits supportive of  both my goals, and my physical, spiritual and mental health?

  • Are my daily routines in need of organization and/or structure to help ground my goals/visions into reality?

  • When it comes to productivity and rest, do I prioritize rest just as much as I do productivity? If not, how can I incorporate moments of rest into my day?

  • While being practical and analytical (Virgo) is necessary, do I also allow myself to listen to and follow my intuition (Pisces)? And vice versa?

New Moon in Pisces

The sun and moon sit together in the sky in the sign of the visionary. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, and signals the end of the astrological year. With the astrological year soon coming to a close and the new moon being representative of new beginnings, this is a fitting time to reflect on anything that is calling to be released, and at the same time, that which is calling for a new beginning.

The new moon sits close to the ringed planet, Saturn. Known as the planet of discipline, Saturn speaks to creating the systems and structures needed to hold and build our vision. Saturn represents the level of focus and commitment we’re willing to put into our dreams so that they can become a reality.

While Saturn symbolizes what is tangible and physical, Neptune (Pisces’ ruler) represents all that is intangible and immaterial such as the spiritual, mystical, and imaginative.

Under this lunation, feel into what inspires you. Allow yourself to close your eyes and visualize what dreams or visions of yours you’re ready to bring to life. While a myriad of dreams may swirl and float around in your mind, which one flashes the brightest? Which one(s) are you willing to commit to and make real? The answer lies within

Reflections:

  • What needs to be released (thoughts, beliefs, old systems/structures) to make room for a new beginning?

  • What vision(s) of yours are you willing to commit to and bring to life?

  • When it comes to your spirituality or creativity, what is calling to be tended to?

  • What spiritual or creative practices do you want to continue to build upon?

The Season of the Fishes (Pisces Season)

The Sun is now in Pisces; the archetype of the mystic, poet, and dreamer.

Co-ruled by Neptune (modern ruler), the planet of mysticism, and Jupiter (traditional ruler), the planet of optimism, this season calls us to connect with our inner mystic, imagination, and creativity.

Pisces’ evolutionary goal is to separate their consciousness from their personality, to identify with their larger self. Through relaxing in solitude, meditating, creating or imagining, the sign of the dreamer connects with its boundless self. It is through these states, that Pisces transcends itself and experiences consciousness itself.

Pisces is associated with the 12th house (of spirituality, solitude, self-transcendence) and is a mutable sign which means that for the sign of mystic, exploring the ocean of consciousness is the pathway to identifying with the depths of one’s soul, a pathway that is endless. And it is also in this spaciousness that it can find compassion and forgiveness, and release that which it no longer chooses to carry on its journey.

Pisces (season) is here to teach us that though life is filled with many complexities, we have the capacity to find peace amidst the noise of the world.Pisces reminds us that there’s a sanctuary within us that we can access if choose. A place where our inner wisdom, inspiration, and creativity can arise and flow into our consciousness if we let it. And it is in this same place, that we can surrender to the magic and mystery that dwells in this vastness and allow it to move through us.

Full Moon in Leo

Leo’s evolutionary goal is to develop their authentic self-expression, and cultivate the courage/vulnerability to express itself fully. To bare its heart, inner life, and what it values most with the world is Leo’s aim. Playfulness, creativity, and saying yes to life is pathway for attaining that goal.

The full moon sit opposite the sun in Aquarius. Though Leo and Aquarius are in polarity to one another, they share a common ground. For the sign of the rebel (Aquarius) and the sign of the performer (Leo), being true to your authentic self no matter how others may perceive you is the foundation they stand on.

Uranus, the planet of freedom and individuation, and Aquarius’ co-ruler, sits in tensity with this lunation. Uranus echoes the theme of individuality as it challenges us to be true to ourselves regardless of social approval. Uranus challenges us to break the rules and life a life that feels and looks authentic to who we truly are regardless of societal expectations.

While Leo represents the individual and Aquarius represents the collective,  understanding what you want to create in life, what you value, and the social groups and movements you want to be a part of, understanding who you truly are comes first. Everything else follows that.

To add to this, all planets are currently direct, which means that we may be feeling inspired on how we want to take action/move forward in the coming months. Now is a great time to think about how you want to share your creativity/self-expression (Leo) with your community (Aquarius).

Reflections:

  • Full moons are associated with releasing, can you release any expectations that have been imposed upon you and instead choose to be true to yourself?
Are there any parts of you that you’ve dimmed to be accepted? How can you begin to allow that part of you to step out into the sun and express itself?

  • What would being more authentic to your true self look like and feel like?

  • How can you invite more joy and play into your life while working on your goals? How can you celebrate yourself/life more?
