New Moon in Taurus

The sun and moon come together in the archetype of the sensualist. With 6 planets in Taurus (sun, moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, and the north node) the theme of creating serenity and ease in our lives is highlighted. Taurus is associated with our values, self-worth, slow and sustainable movement/action, our body and inner instincts.

As symbolized by the bull, Taurus relies on it’s inner instincts or inner voice to lead the way. In order to hear the whisper our of inner voice, spending time in silence is necessary. Just as the bull is in its most relaxed state basking in the sun and grazing in the grass, we benefit from spending time in the silence of nature to tune into our inner guidance.

This lunation is governed by Venus, the goddess of love, beauty and peace. Venus speaks to what we value and the creation of balance and beauty in our lives. With Venus currently in Cancer, creating that which brings us comfort is being emphasized; the thread that ties Cancer and Taurus together is creating comfort and security in one’s life.

The moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus as it brings a grounding presence to the emotional nature of the moon. This lunation is sweetly supported by Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Cancer. Neptune represents our dreams, visions, and inspiration while Mars represents our courage and drive. With Venus and Mars both in Cancer paired by the grounding and fertile energy of Taurus, this speaks to nurturing (Cancer) the soil (Taurus) of that which we are inspired (Neptune in Pisces) to bring to life.

With Jupiter’s recent ingress into Taurus, the belief that we are both worthy and capable of creating ease and stability in our lives is accentuated for the next year (as Jupiter will remain in Taurus through May 25 of next year). In the process of making this tangible, we can look to the the bull for wisdom as it shows us that steady and sustainable movement, tending to our bodies through plenty of rest and nourishment, and listening to our inner voice or instincts to lead the way is essential.

Reflections:

  • New moon symbolize new beginnings, what new beginning or intention(s) do you want to nurture and nourish?

  • What brings you ease, peace, and comfort? And how can you invite or create more of that into your life/environment(s)?

  • Take a few deep breaths and close your eyes. In this silence, can you tune into your inner voice for guidance?

New Moon in Aries

Today’s new moon in the sign of the ram is the first new moon of the astrological new year which speaks to new beginnings. Aries is a cardinal sign which refers to the beginning of a cycle, just as spring represents the blossoming of new life. With the sun and moon coming together in the pioneering spirit of Aries, this is a potent lunation to set intentions for the year ahead.

Aries energy is about the development of courage through action. It’s about aligning your actions with your desires, knowing what you want and going after it without hesitation. Aries is instinctual. It doesn’t get tangled up in it’s feeling or thoughts, it simply acts.

As the sun and moon along with Mercury and Jupiter lie in Aries, this energy pulses strongly in the air. Mercury in Aries speaks to being honest with yourself about what you desire while Jupiter in Aries speaks to believing in yourself enough to go after it. This lunation squares Mars (Aries’ ruler) in Gemini which is reflective of bravely pursuing what triggers your curiosity. With Mars soon entering Cancer, take a moment to listen to your heart and follow what it’s most passionate about. This isn’t the time to let fear shape your decisions.

On top of this Pluto, the planet of transformation, sextiles the moon which speaks to harnessing your inner power to give life to your intentions. With Pluto entering Aquarius, the archetype of the rebel, in a few days it’s important to stay true to yourself and not left fear or external pressures influence your motivations.

Reflections:

  • What are you most passionate about pursing or creating?

  • What do you want to give birth to this season?

  • Courage is a practice. What’s one action you can take to bring your desires and intentions life?

  • What area of your life is inviting you to be more brave and bold?

The Season of the Ram (Aries Season)

The Sun is now in Aries; the archetype of the pioneer, daredevil, and warrior. Aries season marks the start of the astrological new year and spring equinox.

Ruled by Mars, the planet of war, which represents our courage, drive, and assertiveness, this season invites us to take up space, go after what we want with boldness, and claim it.

Aries is our primal knowing that we have the right to exist, that we can overcome any obstacle, and that we have the power to shape our life. Aries’ evolutionary goal is to claim the  right use of assertiveness. It is by choosing to combat fear and taking the right risks that Aries develops courage.

Aries is associated with the 1st house (of personal identity, autonomy, self-actualization) and is a cardinal sign which means that for the sign of the ram, having a sharp sense of one’s identity and direction in life is fuel for the warrior. When Aries knows what it desires to attain, it goes after it with boldness, fierceness, and the knowing that it deserves to rightfully hold what it desires.

Aries season serves as a reminder that we have the ability to be brave, bold, and courageous. All it takes is intentionality, determination, and action to bring our desires and creations to life.

Aries (season) is here to teach us that courage is earned. The quote “feel the fear and do it anyway” — that’s Aries. Aries (season) gifts us the wisdom that we are fully capable of facing our fears and overcoming our doubts. It’s through intentionally challenging ourselves by taking the right risks and adventures that we stoke the inner flame that is courage. This is where growth and transformation lie.

Full Moon in Virgo

Today’s full moon in Virgo is the last full moon of the astrological year. Full moons represent a release point, and a time of letting go. While the moon sits opposite the sun, our subconscious (moon) is illuminated, which can bring a sense of clarity to what needs to change.

Virgo’s evolutionarily goal is to self-transform and aim for its highest potential. Virgo energy is that of adjustment, refinement and improvement. This full moon speaks to creating the necessary rituals and habits that can support us in our day-to-day life. It’s about creating routine(s) that support us mind-body(Virgo)-soul (Pisces) and that give us the ability to show up and serve in a meaningful and impactful way.

Shortly after the full moon peaks, Saturn (the planet of discipline) moves into Pisces which also speaks to creating structures and foundations that sustain us spirituality and support us in anchoring our visions (Pisces) into reality.

The full moon is in friction with fiery Mars (our drive). While the moon in Virgo symbolizes practicality, and the sun in Pisces symbolizes a meditative pause, Mars is all about action, so we may be feeling that tension internally. Uranus (known as the great awakener) brings a supportive tone to this lunation in that it can “awaken” us to the changes that we need to create so that our daily habits and routines are supportive of both our goals and well-being.

Reflections:

  • Are my daily habits supportive of  both my goals, and my physical, spiritual and mental health?

  • Are my daily routines in need of organization and/or structure to help ground my goals/visions into reality?

  • When it comes to productivity and rest, do I prioritize rest just as much as I do productivity? If not, how can I incorporate moments of rest into my day?

  • While being practical and analytical (Virgo) is necessary, do I also allow myself to listen to and follow my intuition (Pisces)? And vice versa?
